Jennifer Espinet-Portell was born in Cuba. She relocated to Miami, FL in 1996 and has lived in Miami for the last 19 years. Ms. Espinet-Portell graduated from Florida International University with her Bachelor's in English and a minor in International Relations. Ms. Espinet-Portell attended Florida International University College of Law. She is admitted to the Florida Bar and Southern District Bar.

Upon being admitted to the Florida Bar, Ms. Espinet-Portell has practiced in the areas of foreclosure defense, estate planning, immigration, and family law.
